Orlando, 2013

Dan, Trevor, Tad and I went to the NADA Convention in Orlando, Florida from Feb 8th - Feb 12th.  Grandma Mac, Mike, Terri and Paul were there also.  Riley and Lenny drove up from Key West.  We stayed at the Marriott Cypress Harbour vacation village.  We had a great time!

Mike was the nominee from Utah as the Time Dealer of the Year.

The kids all went to Universal Studios on Saturday while Dan and I went to the Convention.  Saturday night we went and saw Lifehouse in concert.

Lifehouse

Trevor in Spongebob's house.
Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?

Lou volunteered to be the Granny in the production of "Disaster."  It turned out to be a Disaster.  We broke the ride.  We went to MIB right after.  It broke.  Then we went to the live show of Fear Factor and their first stunt and the microphone broke.   Not a great way to start the day

The worst part of breaking the ride was that we didn't get to see the movie Lou made!

Waiting for Dan and Trevor.  Apparently Riley and Lenny are having more fun than Tad!
Dan and the boys went home on Wed.  On Tuesday night, Riley, Lenny and I drove down to his friend Miss Melanie's house in Boca Raton.  We went to breakfast with her and then got to Key West around 3pm on Wednesday.
Riley and I rode around the island on their bikes all day Thursday.

Lenny outside their house.

The 3 of us went to our favorite restaurant,  Cafe Sole'  for Valentines Day.  This is my arugula salad.
Riley's portabella mushroom soup.

My Swan shaped leftovers.

We got the dessert sampler:)

Cousins bowling

The reason I don't really like to blog very much is that I am a sucky photographer!  We had a great time bowling at the "cousins bowling outing."  You will have to ask Erika for the pics she was taking.  Funny how she is the only one in focus in my pictures...

Recipe pics

For Christmas, Kassidy offered to organize my recipes.  She bought a recipe app and has been entering all of my recipes on it.  We decided we would be super cool and take pics of the food that we made so we could include it with each recipe.

1st recipe--Maya's Leek Soup
Soften 2 Leeks and 2 onions in 3 Tbls oil.  Brown 1 lb  sausage and add.

Add 1 C White Wine and 17oz veggie stock (I added all 32 oz).
Bring to boil and add 12 wedges of Laughing Cow cheese
Finished Soup!

2nd recipe:  Pistachio Delight
Kassidy's favorite Jello

Everyone Is Home

Everyone is finally home.  Riley came from Key West and Shelby just finished her first semester of college.  I hope I have more pics somewhere, but we had so much fun hanging out, that we may not have taken enough pics.  Oh well, this pic will be outdated in May!

Bye-bye orange wall

I am finally willing to spend some time and money on making my house look decorated.  I don't have the confidence or knowledge to do anything myself, but my friend Lisa Yarter is advising me and my dad, Dan, Drew and anyone else I can guilt into helping me are involved.  Drew refinished my table and chairs, Dan and Wayne painted the big orange wall.  I am afraid I have to pay for everything from here on out:(

Baby Shower for Maya

I got home from Maui on Thursday and hosted a baby shower for Maya on Friday night.  Polly was amazing and did tons of work on decorations, games, presents and food.  Love, love my tennis team:  Me, Melanie, Eva, Jane, Polly, Lynette, Pat, Wendy, Maya, Ann, Tracy and PJ.

Haleakala, take 2

So we loved hiking the inside of Haleakala so much the last time we were in Maui, we wanted to do it again today.  We didn't need to see the sunrise so we set out a little later in the morning--6am.
Very cold and cloudy when we started out.  We almost didn't go.  43 degrees at 8:30am.

About an hour into the hike.  Still pretty cloudy.

Finally, we can see into the crater (erosional depression).
A Nene

The last time we were here, we had lunch with 2 French Canadian girls.    This time:  2 Nenes.

Much clearer this time at this point.  You can see the roof of the cabin in the middle of the picture.

Took this same picture in May.
This is still our favorite hike.  We are going to try to do it every time we are in Maui.  We were very sore when we got back to the hotel.  11 miles (5 1/2 hours) is no cake walk!
